The Newsboy “Aramu” fabric is a type of heavy cotton, with a black and white diamond pattern, still made with the traditional Sardinian horizontal loom. It was formerly used to make bread tablecloths, wrap food - so as to ensure its preservation and freshness over time-, but also for the important towels of the brides’ trousseau. The same design is used to make traditional carpets. Through our hats - made with unique, handcrafted fabrics typical of the Sardinian tradition –, we want to recreate some of the magic and charm of our island.

Made of wool and cotton, the Newsboy “Bisaccia” Black is available in the black colour”. Its plot shows a geometric pattern of alternated black and white vertical stripes, typical of the Sardinian weaving style, while the visor, the band and the central button are in black velveteen. This colour pattern recalls the one used in both the Sardinian carpet weaving and in the making of “sa bertula”, a type of shoulder bag where Sardinian shepherds used to store food. The Newsboy ondina black fabric is a type of heavy cotton with an alternated, black and white geometric patterns, which recall the movement of the sea waves. This is a revisitation of the traditional Sardinian patterns. The visor, the band and the central button are in black velveteen. This fabric was formerly used to make bread tablecloths, wrap food - so as to ensure its preservation and freshness over time-, but also, the linen of part of the brides’ trousseau.
