The Bucket “Arumu” fabric is a type of heavy cotton, with a black and white diamond pattern, still made with the traditional Sardinian horizontal loom. Originally, it was used to make bread tablecloths, wrap food so as to ensure its preservation and freshness over time --, but also for the important towels of the brides’ trousseau. The same design is used to make traditional carpets. The Bucket Orbace Black variant Bisaccia has a crown made of black orbace fabric and a black and white brim made with“bisaccia” fabric. “Orbace” is the typical Sardinian wool, woven using ancient and traditional looms and techniques. The main features of orbace wool are: durability and waterproofness, once essential requirements in items used by people like shepherds and farmers who woul d spend time in the open air. Orbace wool is still used to make traditional Sardinian costumes.
